Medicated

November 5, 2018 by D A Winter Leave a Comment

I missed a pill.
It's like a switch was flipped
In my brain.
The clarifying light
Of the forty-watt is gone;
Only the black light remains.

In the stark relief-scape
That is left my failings,
Both real and perceived,
Become glaringly,
Almost blindingly apparent.

They are all I see,
They are all that's there.
They are all I am.
